I Suppose Its Well Worth The Cash – Career Research Book Review

I read about this book in an in-flight magazine and thought it very much embodied my view of life: Don’t delay your happiness or gratification until retirement. Seize the day and live it up now! Ferriss is in favor of eliminating anything from your life that robs you of your most precious asset: your time. He feels the way to accomplish this is by seeking out opportunities that offer substantial rewards for the least effort and he believes with complete sincerity that there are ways that everyone can work less and make more. He doesn’t seem to have much of soul though, and thus he ignores one of the purposes of work in one’s life. Our work not only gives our life meaning, but it helps enrich others and make society work.

It’s clear that looking good on paper is very important to Ferriss. Did he write this book to help readers, or merely to add another bullet point to his resume” I didn’t even notice the warning until it was too late. You also have to have a meaningless job that requires almost ZERO work. So I think people would benefit themselves quite a bit if they changed their attitude about acquiring money. Yes, there will always be greedy people who acquire at the expense of others. The author’s definition of the “new rich” is a sliding barometer. You’d be amazed by the variable in quality of life for your dollar depending on where you live, even just in the United States there is huge variability. I have seen others go, literally, from rags to riches (and sometimes back again). Over the years I guess I have given this subject some thought. All those glowing reviews for his book are from other “gurus.” First off, they are too glowing.

First off – the number of plugs Ferriss puts in his book is unbelievable. He’s clearly getting a small cut from each of these people who want to “advertise” in his book.

Is a quote most commonly heard at the end of a test” Well for me this is one where I have to say, “OK stop put your hard earned money back in your wallet.”

Ask yourself if your goal is to ditch everything you know so you can go see the world. If so, get the book but wonder how you come up with a real unique product idea that works. To that effect, it was a disappointment for those of us who actually purchased/read the first book and were expecting a lot of new information given the tough economy. Long time four hour workweek fans are likely to be disappointed. I’m a guest lecturer at dozens of universities, by the way. The book does give a lot of practical guidance on how to sell stuff over the internet.

I can’t even work remotely because I’m on the road 76% of the time because they want me there. It’s wishful thinking/advice, waste of my money and time to read this book.

Absolutely, and I’m convinced anyone reading this book will find at least a few treasures they can take back to the job to make themselves and the organization better, smarter, and more effective. Petrol Generator.
